I have lots to post about, but am too lazy to put things into words….right now I’m hanging out at my parents’ house and printing out pictures for a scrapbook.

On Shabbat, Joshua had his Bar Mitzvah B’Yeshua…..I was so proud of him!  He did a great job leading the service, he did wonderful with the Hebrew, and his ‘sermon’ (if that’s what you call it) was very relevant.  We also had the special treat of having Marty Goetz at the service, and I ended up teaching his wife one of our line dances.

Saturday evening, Janna graduated from high school….*tear*  I’ll miss having her around Kennedy (and I’ll miss Davina and Eric too!)  One of my old classmates was sitting behind me at the graduation, but from the polite “who are you?” look on her face, I’m guessing she didn’t remember me…..After the ceremony, we (me, Janna, Mom, & Dad) went to Village Inn for dinner.  While there, they teamed up with the family of another graduate to cause her to hide beneath the table….poor Kellyann!

Sunday afternoon I helped Corinne & Zach with their wedding invitations, stuffing envelopes and such.  I enjoyed getting to hang out with them (as well as both of their moms).

This week is finals week, so my lab is closed so I can get it ready for the summer…this means cleaning, covering all the computers, locking up the headphones and such, and working on inventory files.  I don’t like the cleaning part, but the rest of it is a nice change from having the students in here….

Blah

So in the midst of all the stress of Tuesday
(gma being in the hospital, dad and Janna being in the rollover accident,
finding out one of my friends tried to commit suicide again, finding out 2 of
my former students were killed in a car crash Monday night, hearing the news
that one of my friend’s younger sisters died of cancer) I got sick….icky,
‘head was stuffed to the point that I thought it would explode (and thought
maybe that would feel better than the pressure), used up an entire box of Kleenex,
felt so weak that I could barely move from room to room in my apartment, junk
in my chest so it burns when I cough, whole body is sore’ sick…..
Yeah, so that was the fun of yesterday.  I stayed home and didn’t really
do anything except try to rest.  I drank more than a gallon of orange
juice, ate several bowls of chicken noodle soup, and just felt ‘blech’.  I
think I was hallucinating some of the time, too…..
So now I’m back at work, much better than yesterday but far from ‘well’….I’m probably going to skip church tonight to try to rest more, but will go tomorrow morning since it’s Joshua’s bar mitzvah.  Any of you reading this who will be there, you’ll probably want to steer clear of me…I’ll probably stick to the back of the sanctuary and avoid all human contact, as I woudn’t wish this sickness on anyone.  I honestly don’t remember being this sick since I was a small child….

Oh, and Jess?  If you’re reading this, please tell Caela that I didn’t forget her birthday…I wanted to call her, but that was the day all that other stuff happened, so I was a bit preoccupied.  thanks.

Life’s been fun.  During Shabbat service on Saturday they did the baby dedication for Elijah:

Then, after service we had a mikveh:

After that I headed to Gma & Gpa C’s for lunch with the family.  It was nice just hanging out.

Gerry created some masks out of Construx:

That evening we had Chavurah at shul, and Lynne shared about her trip to Israel.  It was really cool seeing all the pictures and hearing about some of the places.  I also got to meet Ami, a secular Israeli from Arad whom one of the couples in our Chavurah had met in one of the malls here in CO.  When Lynne and her family were in Israel they had the chance to meet Ami’s parents and deliver some things to them for him.  I had a great time just hanging out with everyone that night, and had lots of laughs with Emily.

Sunday was a veg out day, which was needed.

Yesterday evening we had our Ladies Night Out.  We had a pajama party and watched my favorite movie in the world, “Ushpizin”   Before the pj party started, I saw Chris and some of his friends and was able to hang out a bit…and I met another Israeli guy, though I don’t remember his name….mainly I was concerned about getting the guys cleared out of the building so the ladies in pj’s wouldn’t feel uncomfortable….Anyway, I think all us ladies had a good time.

Tomorrow is the seniors last day here at school….it’s so strange to think Janna won’t be here anymore….and that Bobby will be here next year!  Wow, I feel old…Anyway, a class is coming in, so I’d better go.

Shalom, shalom!

I’ll post about my real life later today…until then:

Now add up your points and find out the answer
you have been waiting for!

(10-16 points) You are Garfield:
You are very comfortable, easy going, and you
definitely know how to have fun but sometimes you take it to an extreme. You
always know what you are doing and you are always in control of your life.
Others may not see things as you do, but that doesn’t mean that you always have
to do what is right. Try to remember, your happy spirit may hurt you or others.

(17-23 points) You are Snoopy:
You! are fun, you are very cool and popular. You
always know what’s in and you are never are out of style. You are good at
knowing how to satisfy everyone else. You have probably disappeared for a few
days more than once but you always come home with the family values that you
learned. Being married and having children are important to you, but only after
you have had your share of fun times.

(24-28 points) You are Elmo:
You have lots of friends and you are also
popular, always willing to give advice and help out a person in need. You are
very optimistic and you always see the bright side of things. Some good advice:
try not to be too much of a dreamer. Dreaming too big could cause many
conflicts in your life.

(29-35 points) You are Sponge Bob SquarePants:
You are the classic person that everyone loves.
You are the best friend that anyone could ever have and never wants to lose.
You never cause harm to anyone and they would never not understand your
feelings. Life is a journey, it’s funny and calm for the most part. Stay away
from traitors and jealous people, and you will be stress free.

(36-43 points) You are Charlie Brown:
You are tender, you fall in love quickly but you
are also very serious about all relationships. You are a family person. You
call your Mom every Sunday. You
have many friends and may occasionally forget a few Birthdays. Don’t let your
passion confuse you with reality.

(44-50 points) You are Dexter:
You are smart and definitely a thinker… Every
situation is fronted with a plan. You have a brilliant mind. You demonstrate
very strong family principles. You maintain a stable routine but never ignore a
bad situation when it comes. Try to do less over thinking every once in a while
to spice things up a bit with spontaneity!

Did you know that authentic mozzarella cheese is usually made out of water buffalo milk?  And water buffalo has now officially been deemed ‘kosher’ by the Chief Rabbi in Israel….Just some random facts I learned today.

203 of the 321 minutes I used on my cellphone last month were on the phone with Debbie.  I really hope Debbie has plenty of minutes on her cellphone…..that would stink if I made her go over….
